Nidaros Cube Clash 2027

Event Rules

Guidelines and requirements for all participants and cube owners.

General Rules

01
Show Up on Time
Be ready at your seat before the scheduled start of each draft round. Late arrivals disrupt the pod and may result in a game loss or forfeiture of your seat in that round. Check the schedule and plan accordingly.
02
Behave Respectfully
Treat all fellow players, cube owners, and organizers with respect. Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event. We want this to be a welcoming environment for everyone.
03
Read Emails from the Organizer
Important information — including pod assignments, schedule updates, and venue details — will be sent by email before and during the event. Make sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) and read all communications from the tournament organizer.
04
Follow the Draft Rules
Standard Magic: The Gathering draft rules apply, unless stated otherwise ahead of the draft. Do not look at other players' picks, communicate information about your draft to others during the draft phase, or take cards from packs you are not entitled to. When in doubt, ask a judge or organizer.
05
Take Care of the Cards
Cube cards are the property of their owners. Handle all cards with care — keep food and drinks away from the play area, use sleeves when required, and return all cards to the cube owner after each round. Damage to cards may need to be compensated.
06
Report Results Promptly
Once your match is finished, report the result to the organizer or enter it into the tournament system without delay. This keeps the event running on schedule for everyone.

Cube Requirements

For a cube to be drafted at Nidaros Cube Clash 2027, it must meet the following requirements. These ensure a fair and consistent experience for all pods.

01
Support 8-Player Pods
The cube must be large enough to be drafted by a full pod of 8 players. This typically means at least 360 cards for a standard 3×15 draft, but the exact minimum size depends on your chosen draft format. Specify your pod size and pack configuration when submitting.
02
1v1 Rounds
All rounds must be played 1v1 (head-to-head). Cubes designed exclusively for multiplayer formats such as Commander or Winston Draft are not eligible for the main event. If you want to run a side event in a different format, contact the organizers separately.
03
Official WOTC Cards Only
The cube must only contain cards officially designed by Wizards of the Coast. Fan-made cards, custom cards, or any unofficial content are not permitted. This includes silver-bordered and acorn cards unless explicitly approved by the organizer.
04
Proxies Are Allowed
Proxies are fully permitted at Nidaros Cube Clash. You do not need to own original printings of every card in your cube. We encourage cube owners to use high-quality proxies so that cost is never a barrier to building the cube you want. All proxies must be clearly identifiable as the card they represent.
05
Submit Before the Deadline
All cubes must be submitted for review before November 30th. Late submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but confirmed slots are not guaranteed. Submit via the cube submission form on the Cubes page.
